尊敬的各位领导，
尊敬的马丁·哥顿先生和伊丽莎白·希尔兹女士等国际友人，
尊敬的张建波医生：
我很荣幸有机会在2007年度“贝利—马丁奖”颁奖会上作书面发言。首先，作为贝利—马丁奖2000年度获得者和UNAIDS的艾滋防治奖获得者，我向张建波医生的获奖表示热烈祝贺！
长期以来，在大理政府各有关部门和大理二医领导的大力支持下，特别是在贝利—马丁基金会和玛丽·金若丝慈善基金会等的资助下，张建波医生为保护人民健康，在艾滋防治领域作出了艰难探索、不懈努力和杰出贡献。他所涉足的领域，远远超出一般咨询、诊治和关爱，他还走在很多卫生人员前面，把工作拓展到高危行为人群的艾滋预防。他与大理的同性爱朋友学忠、张波等紧密团结，开拓了男男性接触者等人群的行为干预，为我国艾滋中高水平流行地区的中小城市工作，做出了优秀的示范。张建波医生是当之无愧的贝利—马丁奖获得者。
同时我还要借此机会向长期以来为我国艾滋防治事业提供了大量帮助的贝利—马丁基金会、玛丽·金若丝慈善基金会表示真诚的感谢！近十年来，你们为中国人民的健康事业付出了巨大努力和无私支持，不仅为国际社会树立了怎样帮助中国人民的优秀榜样，而且给许多中国学人了力量，给成千上万的中国民众带来了温暖和积极生活的勇气！
我深信，张建波医生和马丁·哥顿先生、伊丽莎白·希尔兹女士等今天所做的各种努力，将被许多善良的人们传扬。

Respectful Dr. Zhang Jianbo:
I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to give a written speech at the 2007 “Barry & Martin Award Ceremony.” First of all， as a recipient of the 2000 “Barry & Martin Award” and UNAIDS “AIDS Prevention Award，” I want to express my warm congratulations to Dr. Zhang Jianbo for being the award recipient!
Over the time， under the active support of relevant branches of the Dali Municipal Government and heads of Dali City Second People’s Hospital， especially with the financial assistance of Barry & Martin’s Trust and Mary Kinross Charitable Trust， Dr. Zhang Jianbo has made remarkable contribution by going through difficult explorations and tireless efforts in the areas of AIDS prevention and treatment in order to protect people’s health. The areas he is involved are far beyond general consultation， diagnosis and treatment， and caring and love; he even steps ahead of many health professionals and expand the work to AIDS prevention among groups with high-risk behaviors. He and his same-sex friends like Tao Yi in Dali have developed behavioral interventions among groups of men-to-men sexual contacts by working closely together. He has set an outstanding demonstration for the work in middle and small cities of regions with high-level AIDS prevalence in our country. Dr. Zhang is a well-deserved recipient of “Barry & Martin Award!”
At the same time， I am also taking this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Barry & Martin’s Trust and Mary Kinross Charitable Trust which have provided tremendous helps towards the cause of AIDS prevention and treatment in our country over the time! Over the past 10 years， you have put in significant efforts and selfless support for the cause of Chinese people’s health. Not only you have set up an extraordinary example for the international society on how to help the Chinese people， but have also given strength to the Chinese scholars and brought warmth and courage to live positively for the tens of thousands of Chinese people!
I deeply believe that every effort that has been made today by Dr. Zhang Jianbo， Mr. Martin Gordon， and Ms. Elizabeth Shields will be praised by many good people.
